Children's Choir: Singing songs of worship at the Basilica

Four choristers from my family have been practicing for the past couple of weeks especially for tonight. All four of my girls sing with the children's choir at Church -- three out of four of them cantor at the "family/children's" Mass at our parish.

This Mass tonight (actually two Masses) is quite special; my girls will be singing with their choir for the televised Mass for Shut-ins at the Basilica of the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception.

To say they are excited is an understatement. It's not just about being on TV -- which for most children would be thrilling enough. But, to sing at the National Shrine, during the Mass to help others who cannot leave their homes to worship in person -- well, that's almost as wonderful as it gets, at least for my kids.

As they head to Washington, DC tonight to sing, praying twice as do. please remember the girls and their entire choir in your prayers. Rest assured we will be offering prayers for all of you, as well.
