Sunday Salvo

This week's good examples to all of us are...
1.

WAY TO GO!!! The USCCB's doctrinal committee released a document clarifying the situation that confronted Bishop Olmsted of the Diocese of Phoenix, AZ in his decision to excommunicate Sr. Margaret McBride after her recommendation to permit an abortion on a women suffering from pulmonary hypertension. Intended abortion is a grave moral evil -- always wrong! Read the whole story at LifeSiteNews.com.

2.

YOU GO, PAPA! The pope will have none of this heavy-handed bullying by Belgian police who raided Church property, detained clergy and confiscated files as part of their sex abuse investigation. According to an article in the NY Times, Pope Benedict XVI condemned the raids, stating:
“On several occasions I have personally reiterated that such serious issues should be attended to by both civil and canon law, with respect for their reciprocal specificity and autonomy.”
3.

OUTSTANDING -- Colleen Koehr, wife to Jim Koehr, Seton's Swim Coach , and mother of 12 amazing kids, completed the Chesapeake Bay race last month swimming over 4 miles in the open water! What an awesome witness to what it means to be a Catholic wife, mother and temple of the Holy Spirit. You are one INSPIRING woman! Read the full story in the Arlington Catholic Herald here.
