small successes #10

FaithButton

1.

The trip to the Basilica of the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception was outstanding. Although I have been there on many occasions, the trip with the 2nd grade class is exciting every year I go. They are so full of wonder and awe!

2.

The dog, although she was very sick this week, seems to be improving thanks to some very good advice from our Vet. We were afraid she had parvo virus, but the Vet assured us that, even though she was pretty sick, she was not sick enough to have parvo. It was probably something she ate...like half the table of snacks and treats from the First Communion/Confirmation Celebration that the kids dropped on the floor! (YIKES!)

3.

Finally -- The First Communion/Confirmation party was a HUGE success. Everything was Costco catered -- which means, party platters at deep discount rates. Lots of sandwiches, shrimp and wraps to go around; chips and dip; a cake the size of Rhode Island, etc. The weather was gorgeous with only gusty winds toward the end of the afternoon. So, kids could play outside, adults could linger on the deck or in the house. Just perfect.
