Faith Facts Friday

Today, I am making the final preparations for the celebration of two Sacraments in my family: Eddie will receive Confirmation and Grace will receive First Holy Communion. It is an exciting day to anticipate; it has been a hectic week to coordinate. But, a friend of mine wrote me a little message in response to a Facebook status post I made about not getting everything done, but offering it up. She said:

Hospitality doesn't mean you've gotten everything YOU want done.
Just everything HE wants done :-)
You're there . . .

It was so comforting to get the messages of understanding and support from several friends, but this one just hit home. If I am doing what HE wants done, I'm there -- I'm in His will. That's a fine place to be, indeed.

The Faith Facts for today will be Scripture passages about hospitality! Enjoy them and meditate on them!

Above all, let your love for one another be intense, because love covers a multitude of sins. Be hospitable to one another without complaining. As each one has received a gift, use it to serve one another as good stewards of God's varied grace. (1Peter 4:8-10)

Children, let us love not in word or speech but in deed and truth. (1Jn 3:18)

Love one another with mutual affection; anticipate one another in showing honor. Do not grow slack in zeal, be fervent in spirit, serve the Lord. Rejoice in hope, endure in affliction, persevere in prayer. Contribute to the needs of the holy ones, exercise hospitality. (Rom 12: 10-13)

May Jesus bless each child who will receive Him for the first time tomorrow and all of those who have been Confirmed as a soldier of Christ. The hope of the future is a well catechized youth.
